Montessori School Accreditation
Winfield Children’s House toddler and early childhood programs are fully accredited by the Montessori School Accreditation Commission, an affiliate of the American Montessori Society.
Winfield Children’s House meets or exceeds the standards set forth by the Montessori School Accreditation Commission, an affiliate of the American Montessori Society. Accreditation means that our school carries out the Montessori philosophy by employing Montessori-certified teachers, outfitting classrooms with appropriate Montessori materials and providing ongoing education to maintain the high-quality of our programs. Accreditation also means that our school meets the expectations set forth regarding administrative, legal and fiscal standards.
Accreditation is a rigorous process. It involves self-study, report writing and site visits from experts in the field of Montessori education. According the American Montessori Society website, only 10% of schools affiliated with AMS are fully accredited. To learn more, please visit the American Montessori Society website.
Our Kindergarten program is approved by the State of Maine. Our Kindergarten meets all of the regulations of the Maine Department of Education. Children enrolled as Kindergarten students may progress to the First Grade upon completion of the program.
